The litigation between the municipality of Champagne and the French Comité interprofessionnel du vin de Champagne started decades ago about the protection of the white wine produced in the Swiss locality of Champagne (Canton of Vaud) continues. In April 2021 the Swiss controlled designation of origin “Municipality of Champagne” were cancelled by the Constitutional Court of the canton of Vaud (see our previous news). In early May 2021, the Cantonal Economic Department has filed an appeal up to the Federal Court. We will report further developments in this matter.
